Fund Title
The short description of the fund code.
Fund Title Long
The full description of the fund code.
Fund Type
These codes were originally defined by the Council for Financial Aid to Education (CFAE) to standardize gift recording and create the benchmarking report called the Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey. The survey is now managed by CASE (The Council for Advancement and Support of Education). The codes are recorded on each allocation. The purposes include current use, endowment and property, buildings & equipment. The fund type further describes the broad intention for the use (e.g. unrestricted, student financial aid, academic divisions, athletics).

Fund Type
Displays the first letter of the Fund Code. Provides a grouping of Fund Code by category indicating the general source of the resources, e.g., "C" fund for current operating cost centers, "R" fund for departmental designated funds, "A" fund for sponsored-project funds, etc.

This field indicates the aid type as associated with the aid type indicator Valid values are Work, Loan, Scholarship (Merit Based), Grant (Need Based).

This field links the fund code to a specific fund type code.

Fund Type Description
This field describes the type codes identified.
Fund Type Group
This field indicates the aid type as associated with the fund type code. Valid values are (W)ork, (L)oan, (S)cholarship, (G)rant. This field is mandatory and does not default to any value.

Gelman Location Rollup

Generation
The ten-year generational period since the alumnus/a donor graduated from GW.
Generation
Generation refers to the Census Bureau's guidelines to group people based upon their date of birth into segments of the population that frequently exhibit similar trends or behaviors. These generations include the Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millenials.
Geo Code
Geocodes are developed to create regions around the country to combine metropolitan regions into a single group. These are based on the primary entity's preferred address.
Geo Location Code
US geographic region of the entity's preferred address. This data element represents the three-character alpha-numeric code value.
Geo Location Desc
US geographic region of the entity's preferred address. This data element represents the description value.
