This field describes the type codes identified.
Fund Type Group
This field indicates the aid type as associated with the fund type code. Valid values are (W)ork, (L)oan, (S)cholarship, (G)rant. This field is mandatory and does not default to any value.

Gelman Location Rollup

The ten-year generational period since the alumnus/a donor graduated from GW.
Generation
Generation refers to the Census Bureau's guidelines to group people based upon their date of birth into segments of the population that frequently exhibit similar trends or behaviors. These generations include the Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Millenials.
Geo Code
Geocodes are developed to create regions around the country to combine metropolitan regions into a single group. These are based on the primary entity's preferred address.
Geo Location Code
US geographic region of the entity's preferred address. This data element represents the three-character alpha-numeric code value.
Geo Location Desc
US geographic region of the entity's preferred address. This data element represents the description value.

Gift Amount
Legal-credit dollar-amount value of the donation received. This value is identified by a combination of the following three distinct elements: donor, transaction, and allocation.

Gift Category
Describes the method by which the donor made their gift. These giving methods are defined by the CASE Global Reporting Standards and groups together similar methods of giving. See also: Gift Subcategory. The categories are:
Outright Gifts: Cash or cash equivalents.
Commitments: A promise made by an individual or organization to donate a certain amount of money to a nonprofit organization over a specified period of time.
Commitment Payments: A contribution against the balance of a prior commitment (including where the commitment may have been made in a prior fiscal year).
Planned Gifts: Complex gifts where the timing of the realization of the gift may be uncertain (some types are also known as deferred gifts).
Sustaining Pledges: An indefinite commitment by a donor to provide support on a regular basis (e.g., monthly) at a set amount until the donor chooses to cancel or modify the pledge.
