Position Elimination
Position elimination is a special sub-type of involuntary termination in which the employer determines that the role filled by the employee's position is no longer required and will not be filled after terminating employment. This occurs most frequently as a result of budget savings or changes in organization operations over time.

The code used to refer to the Employee Classification for a position.

Indicates the location of the primary job of the employee
Position Location District
The position location district, also known as the campus, is a high-level description of the geographic region in which an address is located. Values include Main Campus, Virginia Campus, and Off-Campus.
Position Location District Code
The district or division associated with the position location
Position Location Nation Code
The nation code of this job location. The code you enter must be predefined on the Nation Code Validation Page
Position Location State Code
The alpha state abbreviation associated with the job/hiring location.
Position Location Zipcode
Zip code associated with the job/hiring location.
Position Salary Grade
A salary grade is a collection of values for the minimum, midpoint, and maximum annual salary or regular rate of pay. Salary grades are grouped by salary table and salary group in Banner and can be applied at the position classification, position, and job. These represent the lowest, highest, and median values for pay based on pay grade. Employees are not hired under the minimum pay and cannot receive merit to base pay once above the maximum. The midpoint represents the most common pay for a given job based upon mid-career-level experience and qualifications. Salary grades at GW are derived from information based on national survey data and Bureau of Labor Statistics data among other sources and are attributed at the position classification level.
Position Standard Occupancy Code Category
The description of the category where employees with this occupational category will be reported on the IPEDS Winter Data Collection.
Position Standard Occupancy Code Description
The description of the Standard Occupational Category Code provided by the federal government.
Position Suffix
Position Suffix is part of the unique key on the payroll position record for an employee which is required by Banner. Suffix does not presently have a prescibed usage or format as applied to the position at GW
Position Title
A position title represents the default value for the short description of a position. This title is used on recruitment postings and also serves as the default value of the job title when an employee is hired into the position.
Position Type
Position Type is the description of the Position Type Code which is used by Banner to indicate the type of job position. Position types include but aren't limited to Single Position(S) and (P) Pooled Postion
